Casting Access

“We’re all so eager to attend Casting Access workshops. They are great in-person training for working actors.”

– Jesse Lafferty, SAG-AFTRA actor, Los Angeles

The SAG-AFTRA Foundation Casting Access program provides free audition preparation classes with prominent casting professionals in Los Angeles and New York every week and in cities nationwide. Casting Access also provides an online class experience for performers living outside of the Los Angeles and New York area.

Casting directors and associates from the Casting Society of America (CSA) and representatives from the independent casting community lead Casting Access classes, offering actors a wide range of educational and professional insights, from approaching the text to the auditioning process to casting etiquette.

To be eligible to participate in the Casting Access program, actors must be current SAG-AFTRA members in good standing, over 18 years of age, and have completed the Casting Access application.

Due to significant demand, eligible performers may attend one Casting Access class every 90 days. In addition, the SAG-AFTRA Foundation offers one bonus Casting Access class every month in Los Angeles and New York, which is open to all eligible performers. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

We offer a handful of Casting Access classes for actors under the age of 18. These classes will be offered around the winter and summer holidays, and young performers do not need to complete a Casting Access application to participate.

SAG-AFTRA members interested in maximizing their participation in Casting Access should check the Foundation’s calendar of events on a regular basis.

Casting Access classes are for educational purposes only.

Casting Access is free for SAG-AFTRA members and made possible through gifts, grants and sponsorships.
