- Jesse Lafferty, SAG-AFTRA actor, Los Angeles
The SAG Foundation Casting Access program provides free audition preparation workshops with prominent casting professionals in Los Angeles and New York every week and in cities nationwide. Casting Access also provides an online workshop experience for performers living outside of the Los Angeles and New York.
Casting directors and associates from the Casting Society of America (CSA) and representatives from the independent casting community lead Casting Access workshops, offering actors a wide range of educational and professional insights, from approaching the text to the auditioning process to casting etiquette.
To be eligible to participate in the Casting Access program, actors must be current SAG-AFTRA members in good standing, over 18 years of age, and have completed the Casting Access application.
Due to significant demand, eligible performers may attend one Casting Access workshop every 90 days. In addition, the SAG Foundation offers one bonus Casting Access workshop every month in Los Angeles and New York, which is open to all eligible performers. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Performers interested in maximizing their participation in Casting Access should check the SAG Foundation events on a regular basis.
Please note that Casting Access workshops are educational and training opportunities and the presence of a casting director is not a guarantee of employment.
Casting Access is free for union performers and made possible through gifts, grants and sponsorships. The SAG Foundation never draws on SAG-AFTRA dues or initiation fees.
