“Most actors can’t afford to go to classes and seminars and pay all sorts of things, so what the SAG Foundation provides is a brilliant resource for all actors.”

- Minnie Driver on the LifeRaft program

The SAG Foundation LifeRaft program hosts educational seminars for union performers featuring established entertainment industry professionals who share information and offer valuable insights on the business side of acting – an area that can be overwhelming to newer and seasoned performers.

Presented at our Actors Center – Los Angeles and The New School for Drama in New York, LifeRaft panels provide multiple viewpoints from agentscasting directors and industry experts on topics such as:  Heads Up on Headshots, Transmedia StorytellingMarketing and Audition Technique, Taxes and Financial Planning, Life of a TV Guest Star, Independent Film Producing, New Media, Motion Capture, and Audiobook Narration.

In a world where technology is rapidly changing, and online content explodes overnight, it’s imperative that actors, voiceover artists, broadcasters, dancers and other performers understand the evolving industry landscape and are provided with the tools necessary to navigate these changes successfully. LifeRaft provides that invaluable resource.

Many LifeRaft events are live streamed and recorded for our video archive, so whether you can attend a live event in person, choose to view it online, or prefer to access it later in our video gallery, these tools and tips are always at your disposal.

LifeRaft is free for union performers and made possible through gifts, grants and sponsorships. The SAG Foundation never draws on SAG-AFTRA dues or initiation fees.
